Academy Objectives Overview
Among the most important goals of the Academy that achieve its vision and mission are the following:
- Preparing and qualifying marine cadres in the activities related to the maritime field to raise the efficiency of marine works in the relevant institutions.
- Rehabilitation of marine cadres working at sea to solve cognitive and practical problems in the maritime field.
- Updating the technical information and legislation by renewing the certificates of the ship crews to contribute to the development of the various marine sectors.
4. The application of modern technology in the various disciplines of maritime transport.
5. Develop and develop the capabilities of workers in the maritime transport sector and related sectors such as insurance, clearance, administrative, technical, financial, accounting, and others.
6. External openness and creating relations with international bodies related to this field and benefiting from the academic expertise and experiences in the maritime field in the world.
Educational System
Study Stage 1
Basic studies in the amount of (84) credit hours of study divided into two years.
Each academic year consists of two semesters. Each semester consists of (15) weeks in addition to the preparatory period at the rate of (18) credit hours of study for students of the General Secondary Certificate, the literary section, and those whose averages are less than 70% in the exam high school certificate.
Study Stage 2
Practical training on board ships for a period of (12) months (36 credit hours)
For students of the navigational and engineering department, or attending a training program of (4) months in engineering workshops and engineering simulators as part of the practical training period of (12) credit hours and then completing a service A marine period of (8) months on board ships (24 credit hours) for students of the engineering department only, and the academy helps its students in providing training opportunities in the event that training cannot be secured by the student himself.
Study Stage 3
A qualification course followed by assessment and awarding of the certificate.

Marine Engineering
It leads to obtaining an engineering duty officer (third marine engineer), which qualifies its holders to work as a maintenance and operation engineer on board ships in the engine room and auxiliary devices.
Maritime Navigation
It leads to obtaining the certificate of a navigational officer (second naval officer), which qualifies its holders to work as a navigation officer on board ships, in addition to dealing with different types of goods and types of commercial ships.
In addition to the foregoing, there is a program for advanced preparatory studies in the Navigational and Engineering sub-category, where the preparatory courses are held for all levels of the following marine and engineering studies:
- Navigational shift officer.
- First Officer of Navigation (Chief Officer).
- Captain of the highest sailor.
- Engineering shift officer.
- Second marine engineer.
- Chief engineer.
